Copywriter

About the role
As a Copywriter at Brandora you will write the sentences the rest of the work has to live up to. That means campaign lines and manifestos, and it equally means the error message, the onboarding email and the label on a button -- the places where a brand's voice is actually tested. This is a freelance role for someone who writes short, edits hard and asks good questions before starting.
What you'll do every day
You will take a brief, ask the two questions that were missing from it, and come back with fewer options than requested and better ones. You will write across formats -- long and short, on-screen and in print -- work directly with designers rather than handing over a document, and stay available for the round of changes that always arrives on a Friday.
Responsibilities
- Write campaign lines, long-form copy, and product and interface copy.
- Develop and apply tone-of-voice rules across a brand's touchpoints.
- Work in the file with designers rather than in a separate document.
- Edit other people's copy generously and accurately.
- Adapt copy for different markets without flattening it.
- Deliver on agreed dates, or say early that you cannot.
Qualifications
- A portfolio that shows range, not just headlines.
- Native-level English; German is an advantage, not a requirement.
- Experience writing interface and product copy, not only campaign work.
- The discipline to cut your own best sentence when it is not helping.
- A track record of working well with designers.
Who we're looking for
Someone who treats a word count as a constraint rather than an insult. You read the brief twice, you write more than you show, and you can explain why one of three lines is right without resorting to taste. You are reliable about dates and honest about capacity, which is most of what makes a freelance relationship work.
Skills and expertise
Campaign copy, brand voice, UX and product writing, editing, and enough understanding of layout to write to a shape. You are comfortable working in Figma and in whatever document the client insists on.
Why join us
Brandora is small enough that your work is visible and structured enough that it ships. You will see projects from the first conversation to the launch rather than inheriting a brief and handing off a file. We work across industries on purpose, we protect focus time, and we would rather you left at six having done something good than stayed until nine doing something adequate. Reviews are quarterly, salary bands are written down, and there is a real budget for the conference or the course you keep meaning to go to.
